Bibbo Girls with their Loves goes to Cebu City

My high school friends and I have been planning for this trip since 3rd quarter of 2011. Instead of having our usual barkada summer outing (with our boyfriends), my friend Ann booked us all to Cebu City for a 3-night City-Bantayan Tour. So, being the typical budget-conscious ladies we had this trip well arranged. One booked city accommodation ahead of time, I was assigned to arrange the City tour and Judy booked our hotel in Bantayan Island. I just wanna share the fruit of our plans and our happy moments in Cebu as well.

Our first stop : Magellan's Cross

We checked in at Sampaguita Suites Plaza Garcia just a few steps to Magellan's Cross. Ask the candle vendors to take a photo of you. They are the best. They practice everyday.
(There's another Sampaguita Suites in Mango Drive which is advisable if you're into partying at night since its near Mango Avenue, counterpart of Metrowalk)

Basilica del Sto. Nino.

Wasn't able to get inside the church because its Sunday and it's Father's Day. So expect more people. There's a Museum near Basilica, the Sto.Nino Museum. They are open Mondays - Sundays 8am to 11:45am, 1:30 - 4:45pm except Wednesdays. An entrance fee of 30php will get you in. Strictly no video and picture taking.
Taoist Temple.

We took a cab from Basilica to Taoist Temple (the fare is around 170php). Conquer the stairs and the overlooking view of the whole city will pay back for you.. I must say that this is one of my favorite tourist spots in Cebu, well because you can take a lot of pictures (camwhore much). Maybe because the colors are just so vibrant, the place is so quiet and peaceful.
Mactan Shrine

It's a long drive from Taoist Temple to Mactan Shrine. (cab fare is around 220php). Since its on the other side of Cebu, a bit far from the Airport. Before entering Mactan Shrine, you will passed by people offering umbrella rentals for 10php. We were a bit disappointed just to see Lapu-Lapu's statue because we expected more. We are desperately looking for the statue of Magellan and Lapu-Lapu with their swords on, I mean the actual seen during their fight but its nowhere to be found. So we just vented out our disappointment to shopping for pasalubongs like keychains, earrings, shirts and malong which can be found inside the shrine, too.

Manna Su Tu Kil

Su Tu Kil stands for Sugba (to grill), Tula (stewing or simmering broth) and Kilaw (to eat raw). Walking distance from Mactan Shrine, you can find Manna Sutukil located at the last of the row of restaurants. The upper deck gives you view of the lake and mangroves. If you love to feel fresh air, you'll definitely like it there. We choose to settle on the ground floor which is airconditioned since we're all exhausted by the heat and all tired up from walking. After choosing your seafood and telling them how do you want it to be cooked, you can find your table and wait for your order.

Giant Lobster which we didn't order :P
Us, discussing what to buy and what ulam will it be.
So we came up with Buttered Prawns, Sinigang na Lapu-Lapu and Sugbang Tanigue
The refreshing Mango Shake of Manna Sutukil
Fort San Pedro

After having our lunch, we headed to our last stop. Fort San Pedro. Upon browsing through the internet, it made me think that the place looks like Intramuros. Vintage walls, old ambiance etc. Btw, you have to pay 30php to get in. Surprisingly, its not that interesting. All you can see are old structures, canons and an empty museum. In short, our 30php is not sulit. Just a tip, if you're going to check-in at Sampaguita Suites in Plaza Garcia, you don't have to take a cab. It's walkable, dudes.

Edge Coaster with my love, Paul

Still part of our city tour, my friends and I tried the only Sky Experience in the Philippines.  This is in Crown Regency Hotel in Fuente Osmena Blvd. Cebu City. On a first come, first serve basis we paid 900php per person for a package consisting of 1 Edge Coaster ride (above photo), 1 Skywalk (below photo) and International Buffet at Crown Regency Hotel. Pay at the 17th floor then they'll give you the passes. You can choose which ride you'll take first. For us, we preferred the Edge Coaster first since it's only 4 minutes. You have to go by pairs.

Let's get to the details, Edge Coaster first. Located at the 38th floor of the Hotel. It's like you're sitting in a normal chair with guards on your legs. Initially, it is tilted 50 degrees but you can adjust it as the coaster rolls. The ride is so exciting. The speed and the angle made my heart pumped so fast. A bit nervous but I conquered it. Well, it made me wanna say 'bitin'. (Bragging! Lols!)

Skywalk Adventure with my friends

For me, it's a good decision to have the Skywalk after the Edge Coaster because the process is tedious. First, give your ID card and sign up to have your lockers for free. This is because they have this policy of strictly no accessories, no picture taking and no everything (lols) during the activity, you need to take away all your things. You need to have socks, they are available in the counter for 30php. Also, they will ask you to wear the safety over-all and white shoes (which they will provide, of course). After, some Kuya will put the harness on. For us, since it is Sunday, the waiting took about 30mins. We're 4th in line. But the Kuyas and Ates who toured us above made our wait worthwhile. We had a lot of pictures, plus while we're walking they are discussing about Cebu City which made the experience fun.

P.S. Picture is 230php per piece. Strictly no soft copy available only print outs.

Desserts :D

After a long day, we all deserve a treat. For us, the International Buffet is just enough. A wide range of choices. Sumptuous, mouth-watering foods. Creamy, sweet desserts and a whole lot more. Not having merienda is the strategy. And of course less rice.

This is how our day went, we headed back to our hotel early because we need to catch the 4:30 am trip to Bantayan Island. We had so much fun in Cebu City. And will definitely go back. :)
